At Lifecycle Biotechnologies, our mission is to “Be Relevant in Life Sciences by providing essential and innovative products that are evolved by passionate people.” This statement not only speaks to our innovative and disruptive products we provide to the overall industry we serve, but also conveys the value and commitments of each and every member of our company. The success and growth we have achieved is due to our people. The continued success and growth we will achieve will also be due to our people.
To support this mission it is critical we take the time to focus on development within our own organization. When we give our employees the tools and guidance to succeed, we create an environment where leadership and innovation thrive, and our customers benefit all the more from that positive environment.
That’s why we’re excited to announce our Lifecycle M.I.T. program. The Management Interactive Training program is designed to focus on our company’s next level management and talent, giving them the tools and knowledge they need to evolve into the future leaders and managers at Lifecycle. We’re enthusiastic about the M.I.T. program because it’s an investment in our own people and we don’t hire anyone that we don’t believe is worth that investment.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, our program’s namesake, has a mission to educate its students in science, technology, and scholarship that will make them productive and able citizens in the twenty-first century. We created our M.I.T. program with similar goals in mind. Only instead of college students, it’s our employees who will be gaining insights into how they can work wisely, creatively, and effectively, not just for Lifecycle, but for themselves as well.
The program itself will consist of only five selected applicants who will participate in an eight-month course. The program will start with a detailed personal assessment of each member focused not only who each applicant is, but their strongest behaviors, their management styles, how they learn, how they should be managed, their dos and don’ts, and why they do what they do. This process is designed in a manner to provide better understanding of the members for themselves while setting the foundation for success throughout the program.
During the course, the program members will be provided books, each focused on a different managerial topic and during monthly meetings, they will engage in a lively discussion of the readings and their applications in both work and daily life. We expect to dive deep into each subject, addressing conflicting ideas and opinions, and opening up a dialogue between the members of the program about what to take away and implement from the readings.
Not only will the monthly meetings and readings help develop our future managerial talent, but each member of the program will also work with a mentor from the Lifecycle Executive Team. The mentor will serve as a guide throughout the program, maintaining regular contact with their program member, and acting as an advisor during this time.
Lastly, members of the program will focus on fulfilling what they see as an unmet need at Lifecycle or one of its brands. They will determine the unmet need within their group, research it, and then develop a business case to address it. This will be presented to the Lifecycle Executive Team and if approved resources will be provided to execute the project. At the conclusion of the program the members will report out on the success of their project to the entire company.
The different components of the M.I.T. program allow us to provide a unique training initiative for our employees, and one that allows them to learn and grow into larger roles at Lifecycle. The M.I.T. program is just one of the ways that our company strives to provide the best service to our customers. Because we know that everyone benefits when we take the time to invest in our people and give them the tools they need to succeed.
